Remote Internet Bike Fits For those out of town, Arnie also provides remote-internet bike fits ($150). While not as accurate as in-person fits, for those out of town with limited access to skilled fitters, the trade-offs may be worth it, saving the expense of travel to San Diego.
You'll need to take photographs of the bike and videos
with the rider on the bike, from
the front, side, and back while pedaling on a stationary trainer. Video images
about 10 seconds in length are generally enough; 60 frames per minute are preferred over 30 or 24 fpm,
but 30 fps is okay. Minimal acceptable image size is 320x240 pixels. You can send files up to 25MB with Gmail; larger files can
be uploaded to Picassa. ● Photos of bike alone, examples, with comments Front Image darker than ideal. Bike not perfectly centered. Back Good image. Distracting background. Left Side Good image. Bike not horizontal--too high in front. Top Good image.
● Videos of rider on bike, examples, with comments Front Good image. 60 fps. Minimal image size: 320x240 pixels. Left Side Good image. 60 fps. Minimal image size: 320x240 pixels. Right Side Good image. 60 fps. Minimal image size: 320x240 pixels. Right Side HD Movie 60 fps. Image size: 1280x720. Wide angle effect helped by centering on knees, but camera not square on rider.
